IG Post: Teaching

There was a time when I absolutely hated having attention placed on me. I didn't like being noticed so I preferred to float through social situations, almost like a ghost.

The idea of teaching unnerved me but I also wanted to make people better at the art that I found so much change through.

Nothing about teaching came necessarily natural to me, especially if you had met me 10 yrs ago.. but I did have a passion.

Knowing that passion isn't enough, I studied public speaking. I watched orators speak. I listened to audio books on leadership and took notes of those who led well. I watched how instructors conveyed messages and structured a curriculum. I took courses on how best to demonstrate information and put it into practice.

Teaching is a whole other art that requires what many of us may not have, but can cultivate with practice.
